Adhesive tape solutions for RFID blocking

Avery Dennison offers RFID blocking tape constructions that are engineered to restrict waves’ travel and to help retailers obtain accurate inventory counts.

Challenge of isolating RFID waves can be an obstacle to retail inventory efforts

For many retailers, an obstacle in maximizing the effectiveness of their RFID-enabled inventory systems is the inability to isolate waves within specific sales environments. If the waves cannot be blocked and kept segregated, the technology’s precision and effectiveness will be limited.

To solve this issue, Avery Dennison offers ShieldSense™ RFID Blocking Material.

Avery Dennison ShieldSense™ RFID Blocking Material

ShieldSense™ RFID Blocking Material is a lightweight, easy-to-apply, aluminum foil tape construction. When applied to surfaces like walls and doors, it creates a barrier isolating RFID waves to specific locations. Retailers are thus able to gain access to a holistic view of where inventory rests throughout their retail environment.

The material has been used by many Fortune 500Ⓡ retailers. It’s preferred for its ease of use, durability (resistance to puncturing), conformability to objects, and ability to adhere to many surfaces under many environmental conditions.

And because ShieldSense offers the “peel-and-stick” ease of a pressure-sensitive adhesive, staples, fasteners and other extraneous fastening materials are unnecessary. This makes ShieldSense faster to install than many alternatives.
